What is the mode of exam & do I need to be a computer literate?

The GRE test is a computer adaptive test (CAT).
Before you start the exam you will be given time to become acquainted with the computer system. Make sure you are thoroughly familiar with the system before you begin your exam.
You need only minimal computer skills to complete the GRE. You can download Free GRE Tutorials Software to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of taking a computer-adaptive test. The tutorials cover such topics as:

  • Using a mouse
  • Entering responses
  • Moving on to the next question
  • Using the word processor
